2026-2027 OZ Land Yacht Rules
(updated 24/6/26)
ON TRACK DRIVING
These rules establish a safe and fair boundary when you are racing side-by-side with other competitors.
Racing Room: You must give your competitor adequate space on the track. Squeezing or forcing a skipper off the track is an infringement.
Overlap & Position: If yachts cars are alongside one another, each driver must respect the space occupied by the other. Neither yacht can aggressively initiate a move into the other; both have a right to continue unimpeded.
Blocking: Deliberate, reactive movements intended to prevent another yacht from passing (such as continuously weaving down a straight) are strictly prohibited and penalized.
Track Limits: You must keep all three wheels within the defined track boundaries. Gaining an advantage by cutting a corner or running off-circuit will result in penalties.

RULE SUMMARY
Play nice!
PENALTIES
A penalty requires the skipper to enter the pits and hold for 5 secs.
If the penalty involves another yacht, then the offending yacht must enter the pits and hold until the other yacht(s) have recovered and passed them. IE: If you are at fault, you cannot benefit from the penalty.
WALKING ON THE COURSE
It is preferred that a track marshal walks the track and skippers stay off the course.
If a track marshal is not available, then a skipper may access the course at any time to right a capsized yacht as long as it doesn’t interfere with another yacht. Interference is classed as a penalty.
A skipper may not access the course to tune a boat at any time unless they enter the pit area.
Whilst rules are necessary for racing, please don’t forget to have a good time sailing these craft. It can be very fast, so accidents are bound to happen. Laugh it off and give each other a bit more space next time…
